Synergy offers a variety of data services to assist you in keeping one of your most valuable assets current and accurate. Data services increase the value of your asset and can improve your donor response rate while saving you money on mailing costs. The most important of these data services is Address Standardization.

Standardized data means that your names and addresses match the United States Post Office records. Addresses are validated as accurate, changed to match the Post Office standard, and the zip+4 codes are added if needed.

When your data has been standardized, dup checking is more accurate. For example, you may have a record entered with the abbreviation for street as ‘St.’. Someone else in your organization may attempt to enter that same donor with the word street typed out as ‘Street’. The computer doesn't recognize that as the same record and dup checking may allow it to be added creating duplicate name records. Duplicate records can be disastrous when a donor's gift history is linked to various name records making receipts and tax statements inaccurate. However, when your data has been standardized prior to entering that new record and the new record is standardized as a part of the entry process, dup checking can do a more accurate job of identifying potential duplicates by comparing apples to apples. Address Standardization can also significantly reduce your mailing costs by identifying invalid addresses prior to mailing and improve the accuracy of other data services like NCOA updates.

Synergy Offers Address Standardization in two forms. First, on and on-going basis. It is a module that can be added to your existing Denari setup and requires a monthly fee based on the number of name records in your data. Address Standardization takes place as new name records are added to your data. Second, as a one-time standardization prior to other data services.

Synergy also offers National Change of Address (NCOA) services two times per year.
